Yosemite Part 2

Today we woke up to a very chilly morning (-6 degrees) after a not-so-great nights sleep. Both of us suffering from a bit of jet lag. After breakfast at the hotel, we checked out with hot latte’s in hand and set out for our final day of exploring Yosemite.

We re-visited a few spots/lookouts from yesterday with the renewed weather (blue skies today) and a few new spots too. We found a waterfall (half of which was snow) and a big fire nearby (U.S version of back burning) so huddled by it for a while to get warm!

Michael had planned to go on a run today up a mountain (and it was planned that I would meet him at the top) but we found out that half of it was closed. So Michael decided to still run up half of it (about 8km return) with 1000m elevation. He is a crazy person. I on the other hand drove around in the nice warm car, taking more photos and hunting and gathering us lunch (from the deli we went to yesterday).

Once Michael had returned, I picked him up and we set off on the four hour drive to San Fransisco. We had to navigate some very windy roads, through picturesque (and very green) mountains.

As we approached San Francisco we could see the golden gate bridge in the distance and one of us was very excited about this (me). The sun was setting as we drove in which was very pretty. After trying and failing to drop off our hire car (due to be returned at 6:00pm, got there at 5:55pm and they were closed), we made our way to our Air BnB. Even in the dark all the town houses here are just like they are in the movies (even the one we are staying in) – very cute! Our host is lovely and recommend us a great mexican place to eat which was in walking distance,,and which was delish.

We are looking forward to exploring more of San Fran tomorrow!
